Together, our ministries seek to equip us in each area of community, growth, and impact!

  • nursery

    Leader: Donna Perillo

We offer two opportunities on Sunday morning for children ages 0 to 23 months.

During our 9:30AM worship service, infants and toddlers can be taken to the church nursery where they are cared for in a loving, safe, and clean environment. The team has been trained and screened, including background checks.

At 11:00AM, babies are invited to participate in Sunday School specially designed with them in mind.

  • preschool

    Leader: Jennifer Beach

We offer two opportunities on Sunday morning for children ages 2-4 years old.

During our 9:30AM worship service, preschoolers stay in "big church" to sing and pray. Later in the service, just before the sermon, preschoolers are invited to participate in Preschool Praise. This is a specially-designed experience for preschoolers focused on worshiping through song, worshiping through Bible study, and worshiping through giving.

At 11:00AM, children ages 3-5 are invited to participate in Sunday School.

  • sunday school for all ages

At 11:00AM, we offer classes for every age and every stage of spiritual development. Classes include Nursery, Preschool, Early Elementary, Older Elementary, Middle School, High School and several adult classes aimed at meeting you right where you are. Currently, our adult classes include Fight! (a men's study), Finding God in My Lonlieness (a womens study), & Pushing Back the Gates of Hell (a study in church history).

  • Youth Ministry

    Leaders: Michael & Marion Burgos

In addition to opportunities for Sunday School each Sunday at 11:00AM, youth ages 12+ meet on Sunday nights at 6:00-8:00PM to worship Jesus, hear His word, fellowship together, and serve others.

  • growth groups

Growth Groups at NHCC have one specific goal: personal spiritual growth acquired together in community.

To accomplish this goal, Growth Groups:

    • Meet together once a week to pray, study, and encourage one another.
    • Serve together once a semester to impact your neighbors.
    • Play together once a semester to get out & enjoy life together.
  • worship

    Leaders: Jon & Hillary Maver

In Isaiah 46:5 & 9, the Lord says, "To whom will you liken me and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be alike? ...for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me."

We set aside Sunday mornings to come together and worship this God.

Our worship gatherings are deeply meaningful for followers of Jesus and welcoming to those who are just checking things out. We have created an atmosphere that is relaxed; a "come as you are" kind of place where you can wear a pair of jeans or your "Sunday best" and feel welcomed just the same.

Our music has a contemporary flavor; although, we don't limit ourselves to music written in our lifetimes. We make full use of great music throughout history, but the sound is present-day so that it engages our ears and our hearts.

  • recovery through discipleship

    Leader: Dave Johnson

Opportunities abound in the city of Torrington for individuals in recovery. Multiple AA and NA meetings are available everyday of the week. At NHCC, we offer something different. We offer opportunity for recovery through discipleship. The goal is to bring the Gospel of Jesus to bear on any and every addiction and affliction. Our hope is that as people draw closer to the God who made them and the Christ who calls them to "follow me," they will find hope and victory. Our Christian 12-Step ministry gathers each Tuesday for dinner at 5:00PM and a 12-Step meeting at 6:00PM. Our prayer is that many in recovery will make this meeting a part of their journey.
